Japan Has 24 Seasons

Japan, like most countries, uses the Gregorian calendar as its civil calendar.

However, what you may not have known is that Japan also follows a “Seasonal Calendar” known as the “24 Sekki”.

This calendar divides the solar year into twenty four equal periods, each marking a change in seasons. Lasting approximately 2 weeks, each season is characterized by different plants, creatures, crops, and activities that correspond to the various changes in climate. Although this calendar was traditionally used by farmers, following the calendar by enjoying the bounty of the seasons and celebrating seasonal activities is deeply rooted in the culture and is an essential part of the Japanese lifestyle, even today.

This “Life in Seasons” notebook is a unique schedule planner segmented by these 24 seasons. You too, can learn to appreciate the 24 seasonal periods by spending your year with this notebook and by frequenting our website, which provides more tips and hints to enrich your lifestyle through the seasons.

That is, only if you wish to open up your senses to experience the beautiful subtleties of the seasons by leading a “Life in Seasons.”

*This product is not a book, but rather a schedule planner, in which the 24 seasons are marked and described in English.
